Massive Turtle Cluster

-
Nebraska
Miocene
32 x 18 x 6in, Largest specimen measures 12in
This large, natural assemblage of eleven turtle shells preserved in original matrix represents a rare occurrence. A grouping of this size, with shells (carapaces) ranging from juvenile to adult is uncommon and highly desirable. The specimens are seen assembled together in what was probably a mass mortality of the entire group, indicating that a cataclysmic geologic event may have caused the death of many animals at once. Thought-provoking from a scientific standpoint, this presentation is very decorative as well. From the George Lee Collection of Southern California.

Large Crocodile Skull on Stand

-
Southeast Asia
Pleistocene
Measures 29 x 16in
As illustrated by this impressive fossil skull, the crocodile is a living fossil - an animal that has changed little since prehistoric times. This timeless quality can be perceived in the present massive specimen, the formidable teeth of which are original to the skull. Natural skull texture adds aesthetic interest. Offered on a custom metal stand, ready for display.
